Welcome to 6D's Farm
Our cattle's primary food source is grass hay and red clover haylage (naturally fermented clover). They also enjoy a scoop of grain and the occasional apple which is helpful bringing them in for weighing and calving.
Our hay comes from local farms nearby. Typically we purchase hay from the family farm right next door, and always within a few miles of the farm continuing to support the local economy.
The haylage we source comes from McMinnville where red clover is harvested, bagged. It is then fermented right in the field in large sealed round bales. Here it is waiting in our barn until feeding time.
We breed and raise Belted Galloway cattle along with a few Angus beef cross while our Galloway Herd grows
We started raising cattle simply to provide our family with healthy drug free quality beef. Our friends quickly wanted the same for their families. Prior to this website, all of our customers have been sourced via word of mouth. We still expect this to be the best way to grow our fan base which allows us to also grow our herd. Our previous customers tend to return and they also share with their friends and the cycle continues. We are proud that we raise our beef in a natural and humane environment. We do not inject growth hormones into our animals to accelerate their growth like many feed lots do. With the proper care and management we are able to raise our beef without any antibiotics.
We sell beef shares, that is based on pre-butcher hang-weight. You can purchase 1/4, 1/2 or 1 whole animal. Once you order, you do nothing until it is time to pick up your meat cut and wrapped from our local butcher. Or if you just want a few steaks for a BBQ or some great burger, give us a call. We have USDA certified beef for sale and we are licensed by the Department of Ag
We base our pricing on below current beef rates which typically range from $3/lb to $5/lb hang-weight. Remember, you will get ground meat but also premium cuts, steaks and roasts all at the same price and can adjust what you get during your pre-call with the butcher.
Call us or email below for details, current rates and next availability
Amount varies from animal to animal and will depend on hang weight, as well as the way you have your meat cut. A good rule of thumb is 1/4 beef will completely fill a large, top freezer (or more) and double or quadruple for 1/2 or 1 whole.
If you are looking for just a couple steaks or a pound for hamburger, we can also help with that. We have USDA certified meat for sale that are individually packaged. Check out the "Pricing" tab.
